Senior Technologist/ Senior Scientist, Organic Chemistry for Li batteries

Cenate is strengthening the core team with a senior organic chemist, who will report to our CTO. In order to ensure cycling stability of the silicon, both the anode design and the Silicon interfaces must be carefully tailored. Binder systems, particle coatings, carbonized matrices, polymer electrolytes, agglomeration methods and electrolyte additives are relevant tools to successfully perform this task. The right candidate will be able to combine strong insight in organic chemistry with the electrochemistry and silicon competence already present in our team in order to continuously deliver better anodes for the global battery industry. Cenate has its own pilot operation, while also working in close collaboration with specialists from Norwegian (IFE, SINTEF, UiO etc.) and international research groups.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Theoretical evaluation of candidate methods and materials
  • Planning, managing and interpretation of experiments
  • Collaboration with internal and external engineers and researchers in relation to the experiments


We desire a candidate with documented experience and competence within several of the following topics:

  • Polymer chemistry
  • Agglomeration, coating and encapsulation techniques
    (spray drying/emulsions etc)
  • Carbonization / Pyrolysis
  • Electrochemistry
  • Experimental and industrial production methods
  • HSE evaluation
